On behalf of Dr. Pet= er Sorensen, I would like to thank you for attending last night’s meeting addressing carp control issues. It was helpful for Peter and Leah to learn of your concerns and strategies for dealing with the carp problems in Fish and Rice Lakes. We welcome your conti= nued contact as you begin to implement your strategies this spring. As Pet= er mentioned, perhaps there is a way for a graduate student to be of help to you. Please let us know if you have interest in exploring this furthe= r.

Peter is planning to= keep in touch and keep you informed on the progress of his research. This is a problem that won’t be solved overnight, but if we don’t take st= eps now, we’ll be facing these same problems fifty years from now. = As we begin to engage concerned citizens, like you, we may also be able to leverage increased financial support from the state and other agencies to a= ddress the carp problem.=
