As of June 12, 2025 the Rice Lake Area Association (RLAA) is working with the City of Maple Grove to conduct a drawdown to control invasive weeds (Curlyleaf Pondweed or Eurasian Watermilfoil). MN DNR requires that 75% of the Shoreline residents approve such a request before a drawdown permit can be issued. The City of Maple Grove will be the party requesting the permit.
