This page identifies different issues (problems) and surveys (measurements) which Rice Lake has faced over time. Each year where the issue or survey occurred is identified below.
NOTE: There may not be linked data with each year listed below.
Thanks to the dam on Elm Creek north of the lake, there has not been a problem with water level (except during drawdowns).
To date, there has not been a problem with Eurasian Watermilfoil infestations on Rice Lake.
Secchi Readings (Water Clarity)
Citizen Monitoring Surveys
CLMP (Citizen Lake Monitoring Program) measures water clarity and temperature for lakes.
CSMP (Citizen Stream Monitoring Program) measures the water clarity and temperature for creeks/streams.
CAMP (Citizen Assisted Monitoring Program) measures the water nutrient, clarity, and temperature for lakes. (Rice Lake was only able to participate in this program from 2008-2011)
CLMP+ (Citizen Lake Monitoring Plus Program) expands the CLMP to include more nutrient data plus Dissolved Oxygen (DO) for lakes.
Rice Lake was only able to participate in this program for 2 years (2010-2011).
