RLAA was denied a permit b the DNR in October 2004 to seine (net) for carp. Efforts are underway to seek commercial fishermen to assist in carp removal. |

Carp Control - June 25, 2005 - Dr. Sorensen (U of Minnesota) toured Rice Lake to gain an understanding of the possible carp migration and spawning locations. Also viewed the culvert connecting Fish Lake. Would like to next meet with local fish experts from both Fish and Rice Lake to discuss course of action. Expect this to happen in July after state legislature has discussed and hopefully approved funding for the LCMR (Legislative Commission on Minnesota Resources). |
